Our Net-Zero Commitment (Net-Zero Challenge)

Our net-zero commitment

MySeat (MyIoT Solutions Canada Inc.) commits to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 or earlier for its scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions, as a participant in the Government of Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge.

As a small Canadian SaaS company, our direct footprint is modest; we nonetheless choose to act in a credible, measurable way and to make our targets public.

Interim targets

Relative to a 2025 baseline year (inventory to be finalized as part of our preliminary plan):

• 2030 target: reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 50%; maintain low-carbon electricity (≥95%) across our operations and production cloud workloads.
• 2040 target: reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 90%, with residual emissions addressed through high-quality removals on the path to net-zero by 2050.

Business-specific levers

• Cloud: host production workloads in the Azure Canada regions (a predominantly hydro-powered grid) and optimize compute efficiency.
• Hardware and sensors: design our occupancy sensors for an approximately 10-year service life with replaceable batteries to minimize electronic waste, and ensure responsible end-of-life recycling.
• Operations and travel: a hybrid work model that reduces commuting; low-carbon business-travel practices; supplier engagement.

Governance and transparency

We will develop a preliminary net-zero plan within 12 months and a comprehensive plan within 24 months of joining, set at least two interim reduction targets consistent with the net-zero trajectory, report on progress annually, and review our plans every five years, in line with the Net-Zero Challenge requirements.
